We hope everyone brought some nice orchids to our show. Did they win any awards or ribbons? Registered orchids that won ribbons at the show will receive double points towards regular ribbon judging. Any member's orchid receiving an AOS Award will receive 1 st place toward ribbon judging and the EEOS Award equivalent to the AOS point score. Our judges will take note & record all awards. They will show up in the next newsletter.

Soon, the weather should change and get a little cooler and drier. Many orchids can sense this change, and they slow their rapid growth they experienced during the summer. Also, now the nights are longer than the days. Fall is upon us. Many orchids react to shorter daylight by blooming. We should start seeing these effects by the next meeting, as more plants should fill our judging tables.
