How do you like our new home? With a little 'tweaking' we should have our judging area up and running in a month or two. It is extremely important we start judging at 7:30 PM, so we can finish and turn off the lights and not interrupt the programs. Please bring your plants and register before 7:30, or they will not be judged!

What do you do with your orchids if a hurricane threatens? If you don't have too many, put them in your house or garage. If you have a large collection, put them on the ground against the house so they don't become projectiles and end up your neighbors' new orchids. This will also minimize physical damage to the leaves. Don't forget to sprinkle snail bait around your plants. When winds subside, get them back on their benches and off the ground as soon as possible.

Now is a good time to start grooming your orchids for our upcoming show. Along with AOS judging, we will also ribbon judge our members' plants. Orchids awarded will receive double points towards the end of year totals. Don't forget to continue fertilizing, grooming, and staking your prize-winning orchids.
