The rainy season is upon us. This is the time to use your fungicides, or better yet, provide good air circulation with a fan and keep your orchids dry at night. The rains can be beneficial, providing your orchids with nitrogen and a pure, natural cleaning and watering. It would be nice if we could moderate the rains & trade off so we could get some in the early spring when it's dry!

Two culture awards were presented at the meeting. Tim Collins received culture for his Cattleya guttata. This large, well-grown plant had 2 inflorescences with a total of 25 flowers. Petals & sepals are brownish with dark spots and fuschia color lips. Substance is very heavy. David Schaffter received culture for his large Epidendrum radiatum. This orchid had 16 inflorescense with over 100 flowers. Flowers were pale green, very fresh & fragrant, with a white labellum. Other awards are as follows.
