November 2007 Ribbon Judging

What a way to finish out the year!  It seems everyone brought orchids in for judging. We haven’t had a plant turn-out like that for quite a while. East Everglades Orchid Society thanks members that participated in our judging program. Our tables bring beauty, education, and enjoyment to everyone. This is an indispensable part of our organization and we encourage your support. We see many types of orchids, whether they are big, beautiful, showy hybrids, or small, rare, unusual species. At the end of the year we reward members with trophies for bringing in exceptional, well-grown orchids. We take pride in making your awards meaningful and important to you, so you return next year with more stunning orchids. Keep up the good work!  Have safe and happy holidays and we’ll see you at the party!

Our hard-working judges evaluate every orchid brought to our tables. Not enough can be said about their commitment to bring quality and professionalism to our society. We have some of the most qualified judges in the country. Some are trained AOS judges. Thank you for your time and dedication towards our society.

We had 2 Culture awards last month. Erna Maxwell was awarded culture for her Blub. Elizabeth Ann. It had 14 inflorescences with 56 flowers. The well-grown plant was in a basket & the flowers were evenly displayed. Karolyn Hall received culture for her Den. Blue Twinkle. This small, antelope-type had 11 inflorescences with 286 white overlayed with purple flowers.

Here are the last ribbon judging results for the year.
