Now
is the time for you to fertilize and groom your orchids for our upcoming show
this October. Throw out some
snail bait, watch out for fungus (run those fans at night), and look for
blooms that might last until the show and stake them. All of the members’ orchids that are Registered, will receive double points towards our ribbon
judging. Once they are
registered, they can be placed on the exhibition table or entered into an
exhibit. They must be registered
to be judged.
Make
sure you have the name of your orchid on a tag stuck in the pot. That’s important for the judges, so
they know what hybrid they are judging. There are so many hybrids out there it’s almost impossible to guess
what the name of the plant is.
Do
you have an orchid that you would like to look up and see how many awards it
has, or what the parents might be? We now have the Orchid Encyclopedia, Orchid Wiz on
our laptop for you to use. Please let one of our judges help you with this and we will be happy
to assist you.
