The Coastal Carolina Orchid Society is a non-profit organization affiliated with the American Orchid Society. It gives people interested in orchids in the Charleston, South Carolina area an opportunity to learn more about orchids and a chance to interact with other orchid enthusiasts. Originally chartered in 1977, the society was reorganized in February 1996, after being inactive for several years. As of January 2004, it has 127 active members.
