Welcome to our new Questions & Answers section. Let's face it, even after reading many culture sheets and orchid books, and even after attending many orchid club meetings, beginner and intermediate hobbyists alike always have those nagging questions in the back of their minds. It might be a very specific question regarding local climate that the orchid books simply could not cover, or it might be a problem created by a complicated set of circumstances. In any case, the hobbyist has no place to go. Sometimes, even advanced hobbyists have questions that are not covered in books (or maybe not in the books they have read) and could benefit from the years of experience of some of our members.
Well, this is the kind of service we are attempting to provide here. We will strive to get your questions answered within a reasonable period of time and we will post them back here along with their answers. So go ahead and post your questions, no matter how simple you think they may be. If you provide us with an e-mail address, we will reply to you directly in addition to posting the question and the corresponding answer on the web site. Otherwise, just check back here to see if it has already been answered. And don't forget to be as specific as you can. The more information we have, the better we will be able to answer your question. And if your question has something to do with specific weather conditions in your area, please include the state and/or country that you live in.
This is not an open message board, however. That means you cannot answer or comment on other people's questions. All questions will be answered by a few of our very experienced members and posted by our webmaster. As always, if there's anything you would like to see in our Orchid Culture section or in any other section of this web site, just let us know by filling out the Feedback Form. We really appreciate your suggestions.
Parentage Inquires
You can also submit parentage questions about your favorite hybrids. We will look them up for you and post the answers right here on the East Everglades Orchid Society Web Site. Take this opportunity to find what plants make up your favorite orchid hybrid! |
