Emly's background is undergraduate work in Chemical Engineering and a BS degree. She later became associated with Harvard University Herbaria and still has the honor of being on their rolls in that capacity. Emly has traveled extensively collecting orchids in Madagascar, Africa, Thailand, South America, and especially in Honduras where she collected off and on for 8 years. She has been fortunate to have as her mentor Dr. Leslie A. Garay of Harvard University.
Over a year ago, Emly was contacted by Timber Press and urged to write a book for them to publish. She did this and has just returned the proofs to them. The book will be published in September and will contain over 70 photographs and instructions on identifying and growing many bulbophyllums and allied genera.
The mini-class begins at 7:15 and the main program begins at 8:00 PM, on Tuesday, January 23rd. See you there! |
