Peter Kouchalakos
Dealing With Pests and Pesticides: Holistic and Chemical Approaches In The South Florida Backyard Environment

Peter Kouchalakos

Peter is a native of Coral Gables, Florida and is past President of the Pan American Orchid Society, past President of the Bromeliad Society of South Florida, and a professional grower for Orchids by Knight, Inc., a local South Florida orchid nursery.

A lawyer by education, Peter devotes time between his nursery duties and operating a private orchid maintenance service that has enabled him to observe numerous backyard collections in all sizes. This onsite "backyard" experience coupled with more formal nursery experience offers several interesting perspectives regarding pests and pesticidal applications for the South Florida orchidist.

Peter is a Certified Horticultural Professional by the Florida Nursery Growers Association, a licensed Commercial Landscape pesticide applicator, and Private Applicator by the State of Florida. He has operated a private orchid maintenance/consulting business with his wife Clara for the last 6 years and also is a Miami-Dade County Code Violation Appeals Hearing Officer and a lawyer.

Peter's program will teach different approaches for dealing with pests and pesticides in South Florida. He will provide written material for this interactive one-on-one with the EEOS members.

We hope to see everyone there!!
