Bob Hatos was second Vice President of the South Dade Amateur Orchid Club, where he and his wife have been members for about 14 years. They have also been members of the East Everglades Orchid Society since its inception. He's a member of AOS and the South Florida Orchid Society, as well.
Tonight's program will open with a brief explanation as to why V. tessellata has had such a great influence in their breading endeavors. A short slide program will follow.
Because Bob and Sandra also have a fondness for 'Pendant' type Dendrobiums, the plant table will include some of the crosses they've made in this area, along with a selection of their tessellata Hybrids.
A quick question and answer session will finish up the night.
It sounds like this will be a great night for orchid lovers, folks! Plan on getting there early to pick up some the amazing plants Bob will be selling and put in your bid for a few of the Silent Auction orchids. And bring in a friend, too; the East Everglades Orchid Society meetings are always open to guests. |
