Patsy West imported orchids from Freeport, Grand Bahama (mostly Tulumnias, Oncidium lucayanums) "Dancing Ladies" with her Father in the 1960's. In 2005 she designed an exhibit for Manatee Orchid Society that was awarded a 1st Place at the Ft. Lauderdale Orchid Society Show. With husband, orchidist Barry Reese, she also operates Eclectic Orchids of Ft. Lauderdale specializing in specie and antique Cattleyas... open by appointment.
They have a Cymbidium Orchid Farm on the Big Island, Hawaii, 16 miles up Kilauea Volcano outside of Hilo. At 1,600 feet above sea level, this is a cold growing cut flower business that was begun by a German Baron and Baroness in the 1960's. The flowers are sold inter island to floral concerns.
They are supporting members of many orchid societies in Florida and Hawaii.
