We are pleased to have as our speaker this month Mr. Jorge Casaudoumecq. Jorge was born in Spain and lived in Venezuela for 13 years. Following his passion for orchids, he studied Biology (specialty Botanic) at the University of Central Venezuela. He was a member and judge of the Venezuelan Society of Natural Sciences (SVCN). Jorge has traveled extensively through the forests of Venezuela and Brazil's Amazon Basin to photograph orchid plants in their natural habitats. Jorge is a past member of East Everglades Orchid Society and now lectures to many of the South Florida Societies.
Jorge’s main interest is in the Oncidium group of orchids. He is currently compiling a book on that genus and will be speaking on Oncidium and allied general at our meeting.
Jorge also maintains a large collection of his own orchids and will be supplying our raffle table with unique orchids of his own. We welcome Jorge and look for ward to his presentation.
Come
and join us as we explore this wonderful group of plants.
